VideoSpider
1. VideoSpider has several properly connected and operating cameras.
Everything was working well when suddenly it has started to record randomly.
Your Spider is set up to record upon Motion Detection. It could be that the
setting is too sensitive for your environment. You should refer to the
corresponding section of the User\’s Guide enclosed to the VideoSpider product package.
Then you must test each camera and make adjustments so that it is not as sensitive
to Motion Detection
2. What is the default password for the SpiderAdmin application?
If you start a SpiderAdmin application and see nothing on your screen, you need
to login using the administrator\‘s password. Contact your administrator to find
out the password. When logging in with administrator access rights, you do not
need an additional password to operate SpiderAdmin. There is actually no
"default password"
3. I want to get an e-mail every time when the Spider system detects some
undesirable motion within watched area. But I have not found such option in
the main Spider client application. Do you have any tools extending the
possibilities of handling alarm events?
Darim Vision provides optional Spider Event Notification Server
(SpENSer™) that improves alarm and abnormal situation handling capabilities.
It is capable of sending e-mail and SMS messages, activate external devices,
control PTZ cameras, etc. Contact our
tech. support staff for this tool.
4.System using SP144, while trying to connect to the Spider server in order to view
a live video, a message is displayed "A preview channel has been opened successfully",
but the background is entirely gray. Even though the camera is connected to a
different port, and Spider properly detects the device replacement, it still
does not show a picture. You can see the camera’s name with today\’s date and
time but nothing more
To solve the problem, all you need is to change parameters, choosing between
PAL and NTSC video standard and adjusting the screen resolution. For example,
320*240 is not supported by the PAL standard and if this is selected this
could cause the problem.
5.I've read on your site that Darim Vision present a new software addition to Spider,
which allows the user to visualize cameras and alarm sensors in complex installations
such as large buildings, terminals, factories, campuses using accurate 3D models.
Could you give some more information on this feature
The latest addition to the high-end VideoSpider software package is the
optional Spider 3D™ -- real time 3D visualization client software. This
software combines more than 10 years of Darim's experience and technology
innovations in both video surveillance and 3D visualization/real time 3D
simulation systems. The Spider 3D software consists of the authoring
(3D modeling) and client components available separately. The authoring
package is intended for experienced 3D designers to create the desired model.
Examples range from simple virtual video wall designs to large-scale, detailed
3D model of real security installation.
After the design works is completed, the Spider 3D client software can be
installed on a specially configured powerful VideoSpider client PC to visualize
the 3D model along with the real time video feed from the cameras at the
pre-defined locations. Operator may use interactive controls such as keyboard
or touch-screen buttons and PC joysticks to control location of his/her own
viewpoint as well as adjust position and zoom of real PTZ-controllable cameras.
These changes will be visible on the 3D graphics display immediately.
For more information on the Spider 3D™ software please contact the nearest
Darim Vision sales office.
6. VideoSpider has several properly connected and working cameras.
Since a recent rain, one of the cameras began to receive faulty signals
and as a result the image appears and vanishes intermittently. This camera
was broadcasting before without any problems.
The problem most likely lies with the camera's bad condition.
To make certain, you should switch to a different video source (camera)
on the Spider video capture device (capture card). You should observe if
the broadcast signal improves using a different camera. If the signal
improves, this will confirm that there is a problem with the camera itself
and the faulty camera should be replaced.
The SP118 capture cards are very sensitive to input signals. Output
deviation will be seen if an input signal is much more or less than
its stated value. The signal can disappear, even if several input
signals overlapping and green bands cover the image. This signifies the
camera's operation was disturbed. Video monitors are less sensitive to
camera video signal fluctuation levels than capture cards. We accept cable
damage running from the VideoSpider capture device.
To solve the problem, you need to first verify the signal from input is
acceptable. An Active Splitter with built-in Automatic Gain Control may
be useful for this purpose.
