DARIM VISION DEBUTS VIDEOSPIDER WITH POWERFUL MPEG4 CAPABILITIES
Enterprise Video Surveillance System Leverages
Sophisticated Video Compression and Multiple-Camera Technology
PLEASANTON, CA -- September 15, 2003 - Darim Vision Corp., a fast-growing video
compression and network transmission technology company, is launching
VideoSpider, an enterprise-level client/sever video surveillance system
that features super-high MPEG4 compression for added storage space. The
system enables up to 32 cameras per server to be connected and
simultaneously monitored. VideoSpider allows remote monitoring from
anywhere in the world over a network connection.
VideoSpider leverages more than a decade of Darim experience and
technology achievements in video surveillance and simulation systems and
takes full advantage of the many benefits of MPEG4 technology. MPEG4
uses a much smaller amount of bandwidth than previous video compression
schemes so images are easier to transmit, quality is higher, and images
take up less storage space on a hard drive. VideoSpider's MPEG4
technology enables multiple data streams to be transmitted across
Internet connections and rapidly calculates and anticipates motion to
deliver a smooth picture.
"The Darim MPEG4 research and development people have created several
MPEG4 products for turning video into MPEG4," said John Houston, Vice
President of Marketing for Darim Vision. "MPEG4 has become the de facto
standard for the industry. We're taking that level of quality, control,
and experience and applying it to the security space to get the best
MPEG4 compression available."
Private and Homeland Security Applications
Companies can place a VideoSpider server in each of their buildings, and
connect up to 32 cameras over a network or Internet connection.
VideoSpider can function in environments such as casinos and warehouses.
For homeland security applications, VideoSpider is able to monitor water
reservoirs and power plants. Security personnel can remotely monitor
buildings, and from a drop-down menu click on the area where they want
to look more closely.
VIDEOSPIDER - TAKE 2
VideoSpider uses TCP/IP, so the system can be accessed across the
Internet. It supports either four four-channel or four eight-channel
cards, allowing either 16 broadcast-quality or 32 lower-resolution
cameras per server.
Users can also set up VideoSpider to perform motion-trigger recording to
capture video images when any movement occurs in the area under
surveillance. Cameras can be controlled over the network connection to
pan, tilt, move, or zoom in on an image.
Darim will unveil and demonstrate VideoSpider in booth 1553 at ASIS
International 2003 in New Orleans, Sept. 15-18.
